After a string of flops in the last couple of years, Vivek Oberoi has finally got the much required break with Kurbaan, which was released last Friday. The actor, who was going through a rough patch in his career ever since his infamous press conference against Salman Khan in April 2003, has impressed one and all with his stellar performance in Kurbaan.
Vivek is gearing up for more success with his upcoming movies. He has two major films in his kitty: Prince – It’s Showtime and Rakta Charitra. Vivek plays a big time thief in Prince, a high budget action thriller directed by Kookie V Gulati and produced by Kumar S Taurani’s Tips films. The film, scheduled for release in January 2010, is expected to clash with Salman Khan’s Veer.
Vivek is pinning a lot of hopes on Rakta Charitra, which reunites him with his mentor Ram Gopal Varma. Rakta Charitra is a bilingual film which will be made in both Hindi and Telugu simultaneously. The film, depicting the life of controversial Andhra politician Paritala Ravindra, will have Tamil star Surya Sivakumar in an equally important role. The entire film will last for 5 hours and hence will be released as two films in a gap of three months in late 2010.
Vivek Oberoi is hoping to scale new heights with his upcoming films. Let’s wish him all the best!

The director-actor jodi of Farah Khan and Shah Rukh Khan had created wonders at the box-office with films Main Hoon Na and Om Shanti Om. But, for her third directorial venture, Farah Khan has chosen Akshay Kumar over King Khan. The film, titled Tees Maar Khan is expected to go on the floors in March 2010.
Tees Maar Khan is scripted by Farah’s hubby Shirish Kunder. Shirish, who had earlier directed Akshay Kumar in Jan-E-Mann, was supposed to direct this film also. But later he decided to give the director’s cap to his wife. Tees Maar Khan, a typical Farah Khan film with lots of comedy, action and masala, will be produced by Shirish Kunder and Akshay Kumar’s banner Hari Om Productions. The heroine of the film is yet to be finalized.
Earlier, Happy New Year starring Shah Rukh Khan was supposed to be Farah’s third directorial venture. But the film got delayed as SRK will be busy with Ra.1 and Don 2 next year. So when her hubby approached her with Tees Maar Khan, she decided to go ahead with it.
Hmmm…let’s wait and see whether Farah-Akki jodi can create any wonders in the box-office!

Rumour mills are abuzz that Malayalam superstar Mohanlal will play an important role in Vishal Bhardwaj’s next directorial venture. The film, tentatively titled as Seven, is rumoured to have Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles. Mohanlal is reported to play one of the husbands of Priyanka Chopra in the multi-starrer film.
Vishal Bhardwaj, who had done trend setting films such as Omkara and Kaminey, is a great fan of Mohanlal. The maverick director flew down to Cochin to meet the four time National award winning actor. Vishal narrated his story to Mohanlal who was in the shooting of a Malayalam film. The actor was impressed with the script and sources close to him confirmed his interest in being a part of the film, which is expected to go on the floors by March 2010.
Mohanlal is no stranger to hindi film audience. He made an impressive debut in Bollywood with Ram Gopal Varma’s Company in 2002. He was also a part of Ram Gopal Varma ki Aag which turned out to be a dud at the box-office. Let’s hope Seven will compensate for that and help Mohanlal make it really big in Bollywood this time.
