Aisha

Aisha is a romantic comedy drama directed by Rajshree Ojha. Featuring the fresh pair of Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol in lead roles, Aisha is an adaptation of the English novel 'Emma' by Jane Austen. Cyrus Sahukar, Arunoday Singh, Ira Dubey, Amrita Puri and Lisa Haydon play supporting roles in the film.

Sonam Kapoor plays the title character of Aisha, an upper class Delhite who loves interfering in other people's lives. Caught in her web are her best friend Pinky, the small town girl Shefali, the west Delhi boy Randhir and the hunk Dhruv. Aisha will make sure everyone dances to her tune. Here comes Arjun (Abhay Deol), the rich investment banker from Delhi who is of the opinion that Aisha should mind her own business. Who will succeed and who will succumb forms the rest of the story.

Aisha is produced by Anil Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, Ajay Bijli and Sanjeev K Bijli under the banners of Anil Kapoor Films Company and PVR Pictures. Screenplay is by Devika Bhagat. Amit Trived has scored the music and lyrics have been penned by Javed Akhtar. Diego Rodriguez is the director of photography.

Aisha is scheduled for release on August 6, 2010.
