Blue

Blue is an action adventure thriller directed by Anthony D'Souza who is making his debut with the film. Blue has an impressive star cast consisting of Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Zayed Khan, Lara Dutta and Katrina Kaif. Sunil Shettty and Australian pop sensation Kylie Minogue makes special appearances in the film. Kylie Minogue has also sung a song for the film featuring a sizzling number along with Akshay Kumar.

Blue is about a treasure that is buried 250 feet deep at the bottom of an ocean and is guarded by about 40 sharks. The lead characters of the movie are in search of the treasure. But in this hunt for the treasure, there’s deceit and betrayal by someone in the group.

The underwater sequences of the film were filmed at Bahamas in and around a real sunken ship at over 80 feet below the sea, with real sharks and real explosions. All the lead actors had undergone rigorous Scuba diving training to prepare for their role. Hollywood action director James Bomalick has choreographed the much hyped action sequences for the film.

Blue is reported to be Bollywood's costliest film with a budget of around 100 crores. The film is produced by Dhillin Mehta under the banner of Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision Ltd. A R Rahman has scored the music while Laxman Utekar is the cinematographer.

Blue is scheduled for release on October 16th, 2009.
