Kajraare

Kajraare is a musical romantic thriller directed by Pooja Bhatt. Music composer turned actor Himesh Reshammiya plays the male lead in the film. Pakistani television actress Monalaizza, who is making her debut in Bollywood, plays the heroine in the film.

Himesh plays the role of a lawyer who falls in love with a girl (Monalaizza) in Morocco. But one day, she disappears under mysterious circumstances. He sets out to find her and finally traces her to Heera Mandi, a red light area in Pakistan. He finds out that her past lies in the murky streets of Lahore's red light area. Kajraare tells the love story between this man who is trying to run away from his past and the woman who trying to escape her future. The film is said to be inspired by the 1991 film Sadak that had Pooja Bhatt herself and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles.

Kajraare is the fourth directorial venture of Pooja Bhatt after Paap, Holiday and Dhokha. This is also her first film as a director outside the Bhatt camp. Kajraare is also Himesh's fourth film as an actor after Aap Ka Surroor, Karzzzz and Radio.

Kajraare is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar. The film is written by Mahesh Bhatt and Shagufta Rafique. Himesh Reshammiya himself has composed the music for the film and lyrics are by Sameer. Anshuman Mahaley is the cinematographer.

Kajraare is expected to be released on September 10, 2010.
