Life Partner

Life Partner is the second directorial attempt of writer-turned-director Rumi Jaffrey. Life Partner is a comedy centered on the institution of marriage and has Govinda, Fardeen Khan, Tusshar Kapoor, Genelia and Prachi Desai in lead roles.

Life Partner deals with the lives of three close friends in South Africa who have very different views about the institution of marriage. Tusshar plays a Gujarati who believes in the system of arranged marriage and Prachi Desai plays his Gujarati wife. For Fardeen's character being in love matters most and he believes in love marriage. Genelia plays his love interest. Govinda is a divorce lawyer in the film who doesn't believe in the institution of marriage and is a Casanova of sorts.

Director Rumi Jaffrey is well known as a writer and has films like 'Coolie No.1', 'Hero No.1' and 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi' to his credit. He debuted as a director with the 2008 comedy 'God Tussi Great Ho'.

Life Partner is produced by the director duo of Abbas-Mustan. Music is by Pritam and lyrics are by Javed Akhtar. The film is slated for release on August 14, 2009.
