Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai is a period underworld drama directed by Milan Luthria of Taxi Number 9211 fame. The film features Ajay Devgan, Emraan Hashmi, Kangana Ranaut and Prachi Desai in pivotal roles. Randeep Hooda, Gauhar Khan, Imran Hasnee, Avtar Gill and Naved Aslam play supporting roles in the film.

Set in the 1970's, Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai deals with the origin and growth of Mafia in Mumbai. Ajay Devgan's character named Sultan is inspired by the notorious don Haji Mastan who ruled the underworld in Mumbai during the seventies. Emraan Hashmi's character named Shoaib is modeled on Dawood Ibrahim, who was introduced to the Mafia by Haji Mastan. The film follows the rise of Sultan in the underworld and his eventual fall when Shoaib challenges his supremacy. On a parallel track, the film explores Mastan's love for the actress Madhubala, played by Kangana Ranaut.

Once Upon A Time In Mumbai is produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor under the banner of Balaji Telefilms along with Popcorn Entertainment. Rajat Arora has written the story of the film. Music is by Pritam.

Once Upon A Time In Mumbai is scheduled for release on July 30, 2010.
