Paa

Paa is an emotional drama written and directed by R.Balakrishnan aka Balki of Cheeni Kum fame. Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Vidya Balan play pivotal roles in the movie.

Paa is a rare story about a father-son, son-father relationship. The film features Abhishek as the father of Amitabh who appears as a 13 year old child.

Paa tells the story of a 13 year old boy who suffers from a Progeria like syndrome, a unique disease that makes the child age quickly. Auro (Amitabh Bachchan) is the child, who is mentally normal but physically looks 5 times older.

He lives with his father Amol Arte (Abhishek Bachchan), who is a young politician and mother Vidhya (Vidya Balan), a gynaecologist. Amol is full of ideals and he is out to prove to the world that 'politics' is not a bad word.

Paa is produced by Amitabh Bachchan Corporation and Sunil Manchanda. While Ilaiyaraaja has scored the music for the film, P.C.Sreeram is the cinematographer.

Paa is slated for release on December 4, 2009.
