Striker

Striker is a crime-drama film written, directed and produced by Chandan Arora. Telugu actor Siddharth, whose last Bollywood project was Rang De Basanti, plays the lead role in the film. Padmapriya, who is making her Bollywood debut and Nicolette Bird of Rock On!! fame essay the lead female characters. Aditya Pancholi, Ankur Vikal, Anupam Kher, Seema Biswas and Vidya Malvade play pivotal supporting roles in the film.

Striker is set in a Mumbai ghetto in the mid '80's. The film is about a young boy named Surya who is a champ at Carrom. As a grown up he looks for a job in Dubai but is duped by an employment agency and losses all his hard earned money he had saved for going to Dubai. He is forced to cross paths with Jaleel, the self proclaimed King of his ghetto.

Surya is reintroduced to Carrom by his childhood friend Zaid, but this time to the hustling scene. How carrom ultimately helps him overthrow the man, who had caused misery for many families forms the rest of the story.

Music for the film is composed by six music directors including Vishal Bhardwaj, Swanand Kirkire, Shailendra Barve, Yuva Shankar Raja, Amit Trivedi and Blaaze. Lyrics are penned by Nitin Raikwar, Blaaze, Prashant Ingole, Jeetendra Joshi, Swanand Kirkire and Gulzar. Cinematography is by P. S. Vinod and editing is by Sajit Unnikrishnan.

Striker is scheduled for release on February 5, 2010.
