Bodyguard

Bodyguard is a comedy-action-thriller written and directed by the hit-maker Siddique. The film features Dileep and Nayanthara in lead roles. Tamil actor Thyagarajan who is making a return to Malayalam films and debutant Mithra also play pivotal roles in the film.

Bodyguard tells the story of Jayakrishnan (Dileep), who from his childhood was attracted to anyone showing a trace of heroism. As a grown up he found that crooks were more adventurous and heroic than cops and so started admiring and following them. Thus he started admiring Ashokan (Thyagarajan), a former liquor baron who is now a leading businessman. Jayakrishnan wants to be Ashokan's bodyguard but instead he got appointed as Ashokan's daughter Ammu's bodyguard.

As part of his new job, he accompanies Ammu to her college. He continues his discontinued studies with her in the same college. But his straight forwardness and sincerity cause him trouble with some of Ashokan's family members, especially with his son Rajeevan and his wife Radhamani. The story then takes interesting twists forming the rest of the plot that is filled with romance, action and comedy.

Bodyguard marks the return of Siddique, The Man With the Midas Touch, to Malayalam cinema after a gap. His last directorial venture in Malayalam was Chronic Bachelor in 2003. The film is also his first association with Dileep. Nayantara makes a comeback to Malayalam in a lead role after a gap of four years.

Bodyguard is produced by Johny Sagarika. Choregraphy is by Prabhudeva. Ouseppachan has scored the music for the film and lyrics are by Kaithapram and Anil Panachooran. S.Kumar has handled the camera for the film.

Bodyguard is scheduled for release on January 23, 2010.
