Chappa Kurish, Chappa Kurishu

Cinematographer Sameer Thahir who shot to fame through the slick visuals of Big B and Daddy Cool is turning a director with the film Chappa Kurish. Sameer has opted for a young cast in his debut movie that features Vineeth Sreenivasan, Fahad Fazil, Roma and Remya Nambeesan in the lead roles.

Chappa Kurishu is a slang word used in Kochi, meaning Head or Tail. The film tells the story of Arjun and Ansari, two extreme personalities who represent the two extremes of socioeconomic disparity in our society. When one of them takes pride in being at the top of the social order the other hides from all for being on the opposite extreme. The lives of these two extreme personalities who are like the two diametrically opposite sides of the same coin get intertwined through a crucial event.

Chappa Kurish is produced by Listin Stephen who had earlier produced the highly acclaimed movie Traffic. Screenplay is written by Sameer Thahir and Unni R. Cinematography is by debutante Jomon T John while Rex Vijayan has scored the music.

Chappa Kurish is expected to be released on July 15, 2011.
