Kunjaliyan

Saji Surendran, the director of superhits like Ivar Vivahitharayal and Happy Husbands is back with another full length comedy entertainer titled Kunjaliyan. Jayasurya plays the title role in the film that has Ananya as the female lead.

Jayasurya plays the role of a young man named Jayaraman who is popularly known as Kunjaliyan among his relatives in his village Gopalapuram. His three sisters brought him up after the death of their parents. Being a pet of his sisters he grew up as a very lazy person. Problems started in his life after the marriage of his sisters as his brother in laws did not like him. Troubled by his brother in laws he decided to become a millionaire and left his home. He managed to reach Dubai and got a job there.

But due to recession he loses his job and has to come back to his village without becoming a millionaire. His friend Dubai Preman (Suraj) spreads rumors in the village that 'Kunjaliyan' is returning as a multi millionaire. Unaware of the true state of things, the villagers treat 'Kunjaliyan' as a millionaire. The rest of the story revolves around the shrewd ways by which Kunjaliyan tries to live up to his image of a millionaire.

Kunjaliyan features an extensive supporting cast including Manikuttan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Ashokan, Jagadish, Maniyan Pilla Raju, Vijayaraghavan, Bindu Panicker, Geetha Vijayan and Harisree Ashokan.

Kunjaliyan is written by Krishna Poojapura who is teaming up with Saji Surendaran for their fourth film together after Ivar Vivahitharayal, Happy Husbands and Four Friends.

Kunjaliyan is produced by Tomichan Mulakuppadam under the banner of Mulakuppadam Release. M. G. Sreekumar has composed the music for the film while background score is by Bijibal. Anil Nair is the director of photography.

Kunjaliyan is scheduled for release on January 6, 2011.
