Swa Le

Swa Le is an upcoming Malayalam film directed by popular cinematographer P Sukumar, who is making his directorial debut with the film. 'Janapriya Nayakan' Dileep and Gopika play the lead roles in the film.

Swa.Le is the acronym of Local reporter (Swantham Lekhakan) in Malayalam. The film tells the story of Unni Madhavan (Dileep), who is a local reporter at a small newspaper firm. He is forced to work overtime by his news hungry editor and bureau chief. Though he was advised by many to try for bigger jobs in bigger newspapers, he stuck to this small newspaper due to some personal reasons.

Unni's life takes a turn after the death of Palazhy Sankara Pillai, a well known literary figure in the state, whom Unni considered as a fatherly figure. Even amidst the intense grief of the death, Unni is forced to make lengthy obituaries about the man. The incidents that follows forces Unni to take a different look at his profession.

Swa Le is the comeback movie for Gopika, who took a break from films after her marriage. Innocent, Jagathy Sreekumar, Salimkumar, Nedumudi Venu, K P A C Lalitha, Ashokan, and Ganesh Kumar play supporting roles in the film.

Kalavoor Ravikumar has penned the story, screenplay and dialogues of the film. While the director himself is in charge of the camera department, Anil Panachooran and Bijibal has handled the music department of the film. Swa Le is produced by P Sukumar and Madhu Warrier.

Swa Le is scheduled for release on October 29, 2009.
