Vellathooval

Veteran director I.V.Sasi comes with a teenage story this time. The master director who had been sidelined in the recent years, is trying for a comeback with Vellathooval.

Vellathooval tells the story two close friends - Manu and Jiya. Manu is the only son of Sofia who was widowed at an early age. Sofia was re-married to Zacharia, believing he will be a support for her as well as for her son.Instead he became a burden for them and made life hell for Sofia and Manu.

Manu shares his problems with Jiya. When he realises that Jiya is another person facing similar problems at her home, both of them leaves home and take the security of the open society. The society including their parents tries to label their friendship as love.

Vellathooval features 'Goal' fame Rejith Menon as Manu and 'Akashagopuram' fame Nithya as Jiya. Seetha and Vijayaraghavan plays Sofia and Zacharia respectively.Laloo Aalex and Seema play Jiya's parents.

Veteran's I.V.Sasi and scenarist John Paul are working together after a gap of around two decades. Aanandakutan handles the camera for an I.V.Sasi film, for the first time with Vellathooval. Music is by Johnson and Gireesh Puthencherry pens the lyrics. Vellathooval is produced under the banner of Anugraha Arts and will be brought to theatres by Mulakupadom release.
