Asal, Aasal

Asal/Aasal is an action thriller film directed by Saran. 'Ultimate Star' Ajith Kumar plays the lead role in the film. Sameera Reddy and Bhavana play the lead female roles in Asal. Prabhu, Suhasini, Suresh, Surendra Pal, Sampath Raj and Pradeep Rawat are also featured in prominent roles.

Asal will be a stylish mass entertainer and will have all the ingredients for a typical 'Thala' Ajith film. He is reported to play dual roles in the film and one of his characters will be that of a don dealing with international smuggling.

Asal's music is composed by Bharathwaj and lyrics are by Vairamuthu. The film brings back the successful trio of Saran-Ajith-Bharadwaj together after the success of Kadhal Mannan, Amarkkalam and Attagasam.

Aasal is produced by Prabhu and Ramkumar for Sivaji Productions. Story of the film is by Saran and Yugi Sethu. Cinematography is by Prashanth D'Misale and editing is by Anthony Gonsalves.

Asal is scheduled for release on February 5, 2010.
