Dhoni

Dhoni is Prakash Raj's first directorial venture in Tamil. Another off-beat venture from his production house Duet Movies, Dhoni has Prakash Raj himself playing the lead role. Child actor Akash Puri plays an important role in the film as Prakash Raj's son while the rest of the cast includes Radhika Apte, Brahmanandam, Nasser and Thalaivasal Vijay.

Dhoni deals with the pressure that children undergo these days in schools. Prakash Raj plays a character named Subramaniam, a common man who expects his son to do well in studies and to take an MBA degree. But his son, played by Akash Puri, is interested in cricket and wants to become a famous cricketer like M S Dhoni. How the conflict of interests affect the relationship between the father and the son forms the story of Dhoni.

Dhoni is produced by Prakash Raj himself under the banner of Duet Movies. Ilaiyaraaja has composed the music for the film. K. V. Guhan is the cinematographer and Kishore is the editor.

Dhoni is expected to be released on February 10, 2012.
