Endhiran, Enthiran

Superstar Rajinikanth and Director S.Shankar are two people who are beyond words in Tamil cinema. Many records were broken in Indian cinema when they came together for Sivaji: The Boss in 2007. Now this actor-director combination is back with another ambitious project titled Endhiran. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan plays the superstar's lady lead in the film.

Endhiran tells a sci-fi story set in the year 2200 AD. Rajinikanth plays the role of a famous scientist named Dr.Vaseegaran who is specialized in robotics. He is madly in love with the character played by Aishwarya Rai.

Vaseegaran is given the mission to create special robots, being the best scientist in the country. He invents a robot looking exactly like a human and names it Chitti.

Chitti is very versatile with the strength and intellect of many human beings. Vaseegaran introduces Chitti into the human environment. The villains who are aware of the power of Chitti acquires it to do evil activities. Vaseegaran then sets out on a mission to save Chitti which leads to some interesting and mind blowing incidents. Bollywood actor Danny Denzongpa plays the antagonist in the film.

Endhiran is produced by Kalanidhi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures. The film produced at a budget of around Rs 200 crores is the highest in Indian cinema. The film will also have a mammoth worldwide release with over 2000 prints.

Music of Endhiran has been scored by Academy Awards Winner A.R.Rahman. Lyrics are by Vairamuthu and Pa. Vijay. R.Rathnavelu has handled the camera for the film while Sabu Cyril is the art director. Anthony Gonsalves is the editor.

Endhiran, distributed by Sun Pictures, is expected to be released on October 1, 2010.
