Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa

Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa is a romantic musical written and directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. The film stars Silambarasan alias Simbu and Trisha Krishnan in lead roles. The film is simultaneously made in Telugu as Nuvvemi Maya Chesaavo Gaani with Naga Chaitanya and
Samantha as the lead pair.

Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa has music scored by Academy Award winner A. R. Rahman who is teaming up with Gautham Menon for the first time. The film is also Rahman's first association with Silambarasan. Audio launch of the film, which was the first Tamil album from A R Rahman after his double Academy Award win, was held at London.

Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa is about a an ambitious assistant director Karthik (Silambarasan). He falls in love with a Christian girl Jessie (Trisha). When she flies to United States, the assistant director also follows her sacrificing his biggest dreams of making it big as a filmmaker.

Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa is produced by Madan, Ganesh & Kumar and JayaRaman under the banner of Escape Artists Motion Pictures & R.S Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. Manoj Paramahamsa of Eeram fame has cranked the camera and editing is by Anthony. Thamarai has penned the lyrics for the film.

Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa is scheduled for a February 26, 2010 release.
